Apprenticeship
BUILD TOMORROW’S WORKFORCE — TODAY
ABC Pelican supports member companies in developing and maintaining high-quality registered apprenticeship programs across multiple trades.
ABC Pelican’s Role
What We Do (and What We Don’t)
ABC Pelican is a Registered Apprenticeship Program Sponsor. That means we support and manage apprenticeship programs on behalf of our member companies — but we are not an employer and do not directly employ apprentices.
If you're an employer, we make it easy to offer registered apprenticeships to your workforce. Not sure where to begin as an individual? Click here — we’ll help you take the first step.
Here’s how we help:
🧭 Guide companies through the apprenticeship process
📝 Register apprentices with the U.S. Department of Labor
🛠️ Provide/support related technical instruction (RTI) for apprentices
📊 Help companies track on-the-job learning hours and progress
📄 Manage all apprenticeship-related paperwork, so companies can stay focused on their workforce
For Employers & Companies
Partnering with ABC Pelican means you don’t have to navigate apprenticeship alone. As a Registered Apprenticeship Program Sponsor, we provide the structure, support, and expertise you need to upskill your workforce and meet growing industry demands — including compliance with federal requirements such as those outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
Whether you're launching a new workforce strategy or responding to project-specific requirements, we’re here to help.
🤝 Why Partner With ABC Pelican?
We remove the administrative burden so you can focus on your business. As your apprenticeship sponsor, we:
Handle apprentice registration and updates with the U.S. Department of Labor
Provide/support training aligned to national standards
Track apprentices’ progress and OJT hours
Provide support to meet U.S. Department of Labor requirements
✅ ABC Pelican’s team is familiar with the federal reporting expectations and can support companies that need to demonstrate apprenticeship engagement for IRA-funded or tax-incentivized work.

Looking to Start a Career in Construction?
We often hear from individuals interested in becoming a registered apprentice. At ABC Pelican, we enroll apprentices through their employers. This means that if you're interested in becoming a registered apprentice, your employer must be involved in the process—we do not register individuals as apprentices independently.
However, if you're an individual looking to gain skills or start a career in the industry, we can still help! You’re welcome to enroll directly in our training programs without needing an employer sponsor. Our training can be a great first step toward employment or apprenticeship opportunities in the future.
